We live in homes built from earth, clay, and sunlight by our fathers and grandfathers many years ago. Our alleys smell of history, and the walls of our houses whisper ancient stories to us every day.‌We have learned that at UNESCO, you are the "Guardians of the World’s Memories," protecting the treasures that must never disappear. In Riyab, we too have a treasure; a village where architecture breathes with nature and where unique traditions are still alive.‌We play in these ancient alleys every day, and our greatest dream is that when we grow up, these houses are still standing, so we can show them to our own children. We fear that if these old mud-brick homes crumble, a part of our memories and the identity of our village will be lost forever.‌We kindly ask you to look upon our small village.
